Every human being is like a lamp that is plugged into a great power source.
But it’s a relative few who ever look for a switch to turn on the light. You are one of those people! Acknowledge the light you have brought into your life and the lives of others.
Six days of journaling
You are already enlightened
Reflect on your past: You have experienced times of change and challenge.
Instead of withdrawing and backing down, you invested in your connection to your own power.
Change and challenge
"Change and challenge" is my euphemism for all those growth opportunities life offers us.
Make a list of the top five changes and challenges that have caused you to grow.
Map the territory you covered
Sketch a path in your journal that represents the road behind you. Write in the years of the challenging events you noted earlier. Draw the phases of self care and healing into the chronology.
With bright colored pens, highlight these phases with your insights.
Lights off, lights on
Every human being is like a lamp that is plugged into a great power source. But it’s a relative few who ever look for a switch to turn on the light.
Take a page in your journal and make a line down the middle. On the left, write how you have experienced "lights off" phases in your life. On the right, describe the sensation of light in your body, emotions, and mind following a phase of self care and self support.
Why did you turn the lights on?
You could have resisted the change and challenge but you didn't. Write about or sketch a picture of the inner sensation, voice, or urge that guided you a different way.
Let me know why you are enlightened.
Imagine you are applying for your dream job. You have to convince me, your new employer, that you are a more enlightened person than you were last year, five years ago, or even decades ago.
Send me your essay including the highlights (up to 500 words).
